GLOBALG.A.P. has launched a new website where consumers can learn more about aquaculture and GLOBALG.A.P.’s Version 4 Aquaculture Standard.
They can also trace individual aquaculture products using a GLOBALG.A.P. Number (GGN) search engine.
The website has information about the principles of Good Agricultural Practice in aquaculture, production methods, and ichthyology. It also includes an in-depth explanation of the Version 4 Aquaculture Standard and the criteria producers must meet to achieve GLOBALG.A.P. Certification.
Producers can print the URL of the aquaculture website on their packaging, in combination with their GGN. The consumer can then search for the GGN on the aquaculture website to learn about the origin of the product and the production terms that were followed.
