As was previously announced at the closure of the World Fishing Exhibition Vigo 2009, the Organising Committee is studying the possibility of holding the exhibition at shorter intervals at the request of exhibiting companies.

“The industry itself is rapidly evolving and there is a greater innovation capacity which both back the idea of holding the event more frequently,” said the President of the Executive Committee, Alfonso Paz-Andrade. He went on to say “However the interval will not be too short as the exhibition requires a great effort from visiting and exhibiting companies as well as the support of governmental organisations."
The 2009 exhibition closed its doors on a high note having recorded a great success. Both the exhibitors and the organisers of the event praised the great international and professional attendance at the event.
The 2009 exhibition facilitated an upsurge of long-term commercial interchange and brought more than 500 exhibitors from 60 countries together. The sixth edition saw around 43,000 professional attendees from 115 counties over the four days of the exhibition. According to some exhibitors’ statements, they felt the visiting presence had been affected by the global recession. However, the flip side of this was that those that attended did so with a purpose and most exhibitors who were interviewed agreed that there had been more important long-term business agreements achieved than ever.
