Icelandic freight carrier Eimskip has been confirmed as sole sponsor of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2005 party dinner to take place on the Friday night of the show, September 9, in Hotel Ãsland.

The party, which on the previous two occasions was an awards gala dinner has had its format changed to a less formal evening specifically designed for the exhibitors to wine and dine with friends, colleagues and visitors in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The evening will start with a three-course dinner, and while dining the guests will be entertained by the cabaret 'Le Sing' - The Singing Waiters. This hugely popular cabaret has the entertainers, actors, singers waiting on the guests while taking them though a journey of good food combined with themes from many of the best musicals, cabarets and songs from famous artists around the world.

Awards

After the dinner there will a be a short presentation of three awards -- Best Individual Stand, Best Launched Product at show and Best Group Stand. Once the winners of these categories have been determined the evening will continue into the early hours with plenty of socialising and dancing.

Eimskip, who was one of the sponsors of the awards gala evening in 1999 and 2002, expressed a need for a more fun and relaxing evening for the 2005 Friday Night -- Eimskip's Export Marketing Manager Harpa Thorlaksson says: "We are very proud to be the only sponsor of the awards gala evening.

" This awards gala evening gives people in the seafood industry a scarce opportunity for all to meet and have a good time together. Therefore it is important that this evening is not too formal. We believe that relaxed congregation will result in stronger relationship among the people in this industry."

Tickets for the Friday evening, which can be booked as either dinner, cabaret, awards, after dinner dance, disco tickets OR just as after dinner dance, disco, are available from the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition website www.icefish.is.

The Remaining 10 awards which were previously handed out in Hotel Ãsland at the Friday Gala Evening is planned to be incorporated in a separate Awards Reception in the Art Gallery in Kopavogur.

This reception is scheduled to be held on Wednesday night -- the opening night of the show.
