J. & J. Denholm Limited has announced a consolidation of its pelagic activities in Peterhead, UK, integrating all activity from sea to sales.
The processing business of Alexander Buchan Limited and the freezing and cold storage operation of Pelagic Freezing (Scotland) Limited will be combined into the new company ‘Denholm Seafoods Limited’.
The current close relationship of Denholm with the Tait and Bellany families of Fraserburgh, will be further strengthened as Andrew Tait Snr,Willie Tait Snr and Stephen Bellany all join the Board of the new company.
Robert Duthie, Managing Director of Denholm Seafoods Limited, stated: “The integration of catching, processing and marketing will give Denholm Seafoods a sharper edge in the international pelagic fishing industry. It gives us the opportunity to explore some exciting plans in developing the new business, while it also demonstrates our long term commitment to the fishing industry in general and pelagic fishing in particular. It is our belief that aligning the catching sector with the processing and marketing operations will allow strategic planning, maximise operational efficiencies and maintain the excellent quality on which our customers rely.”
