Dardenia has become the first Turkish fast-food restaurant chain to offer Friend of the Sea (FoS) certified sustainable seafood and to display the FoS seal of approval on its menu

Dardenia is controlled by Dardanel Önentaş Gıda San. A.Ş., a major Turkish canned seafood producer which obtained FoS certification for its entire tuna and clams product line in 2013.

Dardenia restaurants can be easily found on Friend of the Sea seafood mobile app.

“Dardenia's customers are increasingly aware of environmental issues and appreciate our engagement to seafood sustainability”, said Nıyazı Onen, President of Dardanel Group.

Dardenia is Turkey's first and only fine seafood fast-food chain in Istanbul and was founded in 2011. The restaurants reached over 130,000 customers in the first year and Dardenia has recently increased its offering with six restaurants. Dardenia is the latest endeavour by the 30-year-old Dardanel company whose mission is to put fish on the table in every home.
