Campbells Prime Meat has decided to renew its contract to buy Styropack fish boxes, following its initial six-month contract.

Campbells sells fish and delicatessen items as well as meat, and uses Styropack fish boxes to deliver fresh fish daily to hotels and restaurants all over Scotland and the north of England.
Stevie Walker, a director at Campbells explained that Styropack offers the company good value for money, a very good service, plus excellent quality standards.
“We feel that Styropack is a good company to do business with because it is embracing innovation. With Synbra [parent company of Styropck], it is at the forefront of developing new technologies like the new Biofoam® material,” he said.
“Many of our customers have expressed an interest in Biofoam® because it is derived from a renewable resource and it is biodegradable.”
Campbells has corporate responsibility policies that include sustainability and environmental good practice. “For example, we collect and recycle all the Styropack fish boxes that we deliver to customers,” Mr Walker said.
Biofoam® is an entirely new sustainable and biologically degradable polymer made from PLA, a renewable resource. PLA is produced from sugar cane, refined to sugar, then fermented to lactic acid, from which lactide is made. This lactide is finally polymerised to PLA.
After a first use, Biofoam® can be either re-moulded into a new product or it is completely biodegradable.
Biofoam® has similar and compatible qualities to the expanded polystyrene products produced by Styropack. It has excellent thermal insulation and it is resistant to liquid nitrogen and dry ice.
