Fishing 2009 is to feature a variety of new attractions this year including a boat display area, live cooking events and interactive daily competitions.
The show will be held from May 14-16 at The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), Glasgow, and will once again give skippers and owners from the UK and Europe the opportunity to source new products and network with industry colleagues.
Michelle Park, the event’s marketing manager, says: “This edition of the show will be the most hands-on and interactive to date. New for 2009 is a boat display area, with four vessels already confirmed. Anderson Marine of Aberdeen, Scotland, will be bringing two new 33ft and 38ft boats, while a catamaran from Colne Catz – a sister firm of well known GRP catamaran builder Gemini Workboats will also be on display. Macduff firm Seaway Marine has also confirmed the presence of its Buccaneer 21 vessel at this year’s show.
“In addition, the Seafood Bar will for the first time feature live cooking demonstrations, with food handed out for tasting to visitors and exhibitors.”
Fishing 2009 will also see the launch of a competition area featuring daily events such as net-mending, to give crewmen the opportunity to take part. The area will be run by the models supporting The Fishermen’s Mission. Competition winners will be announced at the show.
Registrations for the show are already high and will increase further thanks to a generous offer from Finning. The first 500 pre-registered visitors will receive a free oil sample kit worth £13 which could improve the performance and decrease the downtime of your vessel.
