In times of economic uncertainty, the Norwegian company Provinor AS has chosen to expand its product range to include large format, foam filled, hard plastic buoys and pontoons. These products are specifically designed for use in the marine aquaculture industry.
In recent years Provinor AS has consolidated its position as one of the world's leading manufacturers of inflatable buoys and fenders under the trademarks Polyform and Scanmarin. On 1 January 2009 Provinor AS acquired the production and distribution for the buoyancy products and custom-made products formerly produced and sold by Promens Ålesund AS.
For six months now Provinor has been producing the hard shell PE buoys and pontoon floats. During this time the company has gathered new experiences and also brought in its own experience to produce these items – on the same factory floor and under common guidance and management. The experience has been undividedly positive.
The addition to Provinor's existing production has provided new opportunities in existing markets, as well as new markets. In many different areas the company now makes use of not only the already existing, high competence amongst our employees – Provinor now has an additional, extended leading-edge technology and competence made available.
Thus, Provinor says that the first half year has been a very interesting one and the company is proud to say that the implementation took place without any kind of problem or “backlash”. The first six months have proven that the acquisition the company made at the start of the year was the right choice.
