Norwegian Aquaculture in America (NACA), formed in 2025 by five specialist companies, is targeting the US land-based aquaculture market through a coordinated Norwegian aquaculture offering.

The network has appointed industry veteran Alex Tsappis as its regional representative, leveraging his 20 years of experience to support market entry, sales and technical outreach across the USA and Canada.

“It was necessary to establish a dedicated sales organization for the USA and Canada. Alex Tsappis will also handle logistics, service, aftersales, and eventually the local assembly of partners’ equipment,” said Bjørn Dørum, general manager of Mat-Kuling, one of the companies in the network.

Power in numbers

The five NACA companies - Mat-Kuling, Simona Stadpipe, Helland Silosystem, Silikal Aquaculture Solutions and Dynamic FishEye, each bring specialised capabilities to land-based farming.

Mat-Kuling focuses on water treatment and full RAS system delivery, while Simona Stadpipe provides advanced piping systems across design, production and installation.

Helland Silosystem supplies feed handling solutions, including silos and conveyors and Silikal delivers durable coatings for tanks and RAS facilities designed for biosecurity and longevity.

Dynamic FishEye contributes real-time monitoring and control systems to optimise feeding and fish health.

NACA has also partnered with Structural Armor in Indiana, USA, to strengthen its North American footprint, adding modular composite tank production and tank upgrade solutions to its portfolio.

The companies are actively promoting their combined offering through industry events, including Aquaculture America 2026 and RasTech 2026, alongside a newly launched digital platform.

Supported by Innovation Norway, the initiative aims to scale Norwegian aquaculture expertise internationally, positioning land-based farming as a key driver of business expansion in the US market.
