Triteq Ltd has designed a secure vessel monitoring system, which assists global asset management and monitoring of exclusive economic zones by tracking fishing fleets at sea.

AzurTrac vessel monitoring system

AzurTrac from BlueFinger provides intelligent position reporting and Inmarsat-C based data communication from vessels at sea. According to Louise Fairley, Marketing Manager at Triteq, the company was appointed by BlueFinger to improve and update an existing product. “The previous AzurTrac design, whilst effective, needed to be brought up to date. The environment in which it operates demanded new security features to protect the data, manage the power and record attempts to tamper with it, all integrated into a robust casing.”

Ian Searle, sales and marketing director for BlueFinger added, “The expertise demonstrated by the design and manufacturing teams at Triteq enabled a smooth process from start through to initial production runs. The new features that have been incorporated have resulted in a more effective product that has become easier to manufacture.”

With illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing increasing, AzurTrac now meets the requirements of vessel monitoring legislation such as The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) and Fisheries management. And with improved functionality designed-in, AzurTrac ensures fleet managers or the appropriate monitoring authorities receive effective, uncorrupted, accurate data.

The new adaptation is backwards compatible with previous versions that are currently in operation worldwide, monitoring fleets in countries such as Greece, Ghana and Mozambique. Additional features include, GPS positioning, programmable reporting, intelligent power management with battery back-up, zone-in-zone monitoring, zone, route and speed identification and catch reporting software.
