IceFish exhibitor, AI company GreenFish, a leader in AI-powered fishing prediction modelling, is seeing a sharp increase in demand from commercial fishing fleets around the world as operators look to offset rising fuel costs and improve operational efficiency.

One of the latest signs of that momentum is a new contract in Mexico, where GreenFish is now delivering its AI prediction models to some of the country’s most established commercial fishing operators Baja Aqua Farms and Grupomar. The deployment adds to a rapidly growing client base that already includes industry leaders targeting tuna, demersal, and small pelagic species across all major ocean regions.

GreenFish will be exhibiting at this year’s IceFish

At the core of GreenFish is its state-of-the-art AI model, which predicts the location, quantity, size and bycatch composition of catches up to eight days in advance, with a minimum accuracy of 75% — for any species, in any ocean zone.

A key part of GreenFish’s model is exclusivity. Each AI model is tailored to a single client and remains fully owned and confidential to that client. Over time, these models become long-term strategic assets: the earlier a company begins training its model, the longer it has to learn, adapt and improve. That creates a growing competitive advantage over companies that start later — and in a fast-moving industry, no operator wants to fall behind.

With fuel representing one of the largest operating costs for commercial fleets, the ability to go straight to high-probability fishing grounds in rapidly changing ocean conditions is translating directly into measurable savings and stronger margins for GreenFish clients.

IceFish 2026 will run from 22 - 24 September in Kópavogur, Iceland. To exhibit contact sales@icefish.is
