Just six months after Tucal launched the new model of its vertical plate freezer with automatic unloading system in January 2012, the Spanish company sent the first units to a Latin American processor.
The project included medium size plate freezers, with a capacity of 18 ton/cycle each. This new model also brings the possibility of reaching much higher capacities than the standard one, with manual unloading.
The start-up and testing of the equipment was carried out on-site under the supervision of Tucal experts. Tucal reports that the customer could immediately see the advantages of the new system, where blocks can be easily unloaded in a very short time (resulting in higher capacity), without any effort and with maximum hygiene. After having successfully tried the freezers during the second semester of 2012, the company is now ready to increase capacity by installing more units in the first half of 2013.
Tucal was also very active in the second half of 2012 with projects such as the supply of a turnkey refrigeration installation in North Africa, including plate and blast freezing; another turnkey refrigeration installation in Portugal, with plate freezers, brine tank and the required refrigeration equipment; RSW units for Portugal; and also ice machines and plate freezers for customers in Russia, France, Serbia, Spain, and Colombia.
