Sunwell Technologies Inc. of Canada, who specialise in slurry ice, preservation and refrigeration, and Axima Refrigeration GmbH of Germany have agreed they will market jointly Sunwell’s patented Deepchill Variable-State Ice Technology throughout the EU, according to a company statement.

Axima will also become Sunwell's exclusive distributor in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The statement said the collaboration agreement followed a thorough analysis of the European market which had identified an extremely wide range of possible applications. Further, a large number of potential customers could achieve, substantial, sustained benefits through the integration of Variable-State Ice Technology into their new or current operations. It said Axima chose Sunwell because its Deepchill™ Variable-State Ice Technology was significantly more advanced than any conventional ice or slurry ice system.
Simon Goldstein, vice president of Sunwell said: “The alliance will provide Sunwell with [a] greater European presence and wide-ranging exposure for Deepchill technology through Axima's broad European sales and service network. It will also assist Sunwell [in] addressing uniquely European client requirements. Sunwell's expectations are to be able better to address the needs of European customers.”
Martin Altenbokum (pictured), general manager of Axima said: “Axima's benefit from the envisaged close partnership with Sunwell will
be the opportunity exclusively to
market Variable-State Ice technology and enhance Axima's offer to markets
in Europe”.
Axima said it has already carried
out several ice slurry installations in Germany “which today provide
superior technology and performance” for their customers.
The two companies will have a public launch, to mark their new collaboration, at the Fish International 2006 Exhibition in Bremen, Germany which runs from February 12 to 14. An operational Deepchill™ Variable-State Ice System will be exhibited in Hall 4, Stand D-29.
