The demand for quality plate freezers is bigger than ever and DSI has reported a fantastic first quarter of 2011.

The company is having great success with the automatic V30 series – easy to fill and empty. Ten of these have been sold to Grolleman in the Netherlands and eight V37 32/75 are bound for BHJ in Alberta, Canada.

Plate freezers are on their way to customers in Norway, Iceland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Croatia, Switzerland, USA and Korea, among others. More specifically, Jaczon fishing and shipping company in the Netherlands has ordered 33 units V8 26/100 CO2-freezers for its vessel Zeeland. The Arkhangelsk Trawler Fleet in Russia has ordered 20 units V3 29/100 and food product company Baltreids in Liepaja, Latvia, has ordered 18 units V4 32/65 for its fishing vessels.

Fifty units of the Corepoint temperature measuring system were also sold in Q1.

DSI freezers for Arica and Cape Horn

The owners of Arica and Cape Horn of Seattle, and two more vessels, are replacing older freezers of a different brand with new DSI horizontal freezers. Most recently the Cape Horn has installed five new freezers onboard – three DSI H26/11 and two DSI H22/11. And the gain in production time and energy saving is indisputable, says part-owner, Karsten Hjelm.

"Reduced freezing and production time is energy saving. With the new DSI freezers onboard, for example, the Arica, we have saved at least 10% on our energy consumption," says Mr Hjelm.

The shipping company’s vessels are fishing flatfish and Alaskan Pollack the Bering Sea and the northern parts of the Pacific Ocean. The fish is placed in aluminium trays and frozen in horizontal freezers. Onboard Arica, six DSI freezers are able to produce 100 tons per day.

DSI has also confirmed that the SAMIFI automatic horizontal plate freezers are back in the company’s range of products.

All production and sales of the SAMIFI automatic horizontal plate freezers will be handled by DSI with the support of Franco Tarlà and Roberto Vesnaver at Samifi Freezers Srl Italy and manufactured and installed in close cooperation with Samifi Freezers.
