Belgian equipment manufacturer Steen FPM International said its new ST700/T multi-purpose skinning machine, launched earlier this year, completes its family of skinning machines.
“Our tabletop model ST700/T fits in well together with our automated and freestanding skinning machines,” said Steen’s Laurenz Seesing. “For the existence of our new machine we have to thank our clients, who were asking for a compact skinning machine (tabletop model) that was multi-purpose, as well as easy to maintain and clean.”
The ST700/T can skin fillets and whole fish. Seesing explained that this is made possible by a knifeblade that can be set at different heights. Two handles on the side of the machine can be set and locked to fine tune the wanted end result.
“Another advantage is that this principle makes it possible to deep skin salmon on the same machine,” said Seesing.
To ensure the machine can be easily maintained, the bearings and the seals have been made accessible and easy to replace.
For easy cleaning, Seesing said the ST700/T can be partially dismounted without the use of any tools in less than one minute. The back of the machine (out-feed plate) can be lifted off and the front (in-feed plate) can be folded open where electronically-protected guards prevent the machine from working when parts are dismounted.
When these are dismounted, the roller and cleaning roller become visible and can be easily cleaned with a high pressure washer or hose.
“With a wide working area and a strong motor, this machine is more then able to process a wide range of whole fish and fillets. What makes this even easier is that the in-feed plate is equipped with an adjustable water spray, so the fish will slide easier to the roller for faster processing.”
