Marine electronics manufacturer, Simrad, has updated its GPS range with the P3007 and P2005.
Available in a choice of 5 or 7-inch displays, the P3007 is IMO approval for SOLAS vessels whilst the P2005 is designed for workboats, the light professional segment and other non-SOLAS vessels.
“Our Simrad P3007 and P2005 GPS systems are an exciting new addition to our commercial product range,” said Leif Ottosson, chief executive of Navico Group which owns the Simrad brand. “With more options packed into these units than ever before, while maintaining precision and clarity, they are perfect for a wide range of working vessels.”
The P3007 is an all-in-one solution designed to replace the MX612, MX610, and GN70. When paired with high-precision antennas, the system can be configured for use as a DGPS, transmitting heading device and supports 12 NMEA 0183 serial ports with an optional junction box.
The P2005 can also be paired with a wide range of Simrad GPS antennas or compasses, and supports an optional junction box for serial port expansion.
Both the P3007 and P2005 systems work with a direct antenna connection and each display size includes value features such as routes and waypoints, trip log, position and heading, auxiliary AIS plot, configurable digital data pages, GPS and GLONASS, and an optional external potentiometer backlight dimming feature.
