Kroma A/S has just introduced the GUTMASTER 3000 to complete its range of gutting machines. This new machine is capable of processing 35 fish per minute.

The fish is placed on its back with the head forward when it goes into the machine and the machine will automatically place the fish in the cup so that it is always is placed correctly.
The machine measures the size of each fish and adjusts the knives and brushes to this measurement to achieve the best possible gutting. A number of different options are available - for example, automatic quality inspection, integrated head cutter or Cleaning In Place.
The machine is available in two versions, one version as a standard gutting machine where all the guts are removed by vacuum. The other version is a machine with an opening in the middle so the roe can be removed manually. When there is no roe in the fish a suction unit can be added to suck the guts away.
Salmon Farm in Finland was the first company to buy this machine, for its ability to process 35 fish per minute and also due to its ability to recover the roe from the fish.
“The machine can process big and small fish just after each other at a high capacity, just like Kroma promised us, so we are very satisfied with the machine," says Wilhelm Liljeqvist from Salmon Farm. “The machines were installed in week 36 and has been processing fish every working day since without any problem,” he continued.
The GUTMASTER 3000 was primarily developed for pink salmon in Alaska.
