German manufacturer Nock has combined its competence in fish skinning technology with his refrigeration know-how from the manufacturing of its scale ice machines to create a fish skinning machine with freeze drum technology.
Its Freeze Drum Skinner TFE 350 is targeted at skinning soft fish, such as defrosted fish fillets, and all types of fish with weak skin.
Fillets are placed with the skin side up on the conveyor, they are sprayed with water and then freeze upon contact with the freeze drum. A saw band separates the fish from the skin and if requested the layer of fat underneath can also be removed. The skin is then scraped off the drum and exits the machine via a stainless steel slide.
The saw band has a high precision guide for constant and very fine cutting. The cutting width of the machine is 350mm. The cutting depth (skinning depth) can be “steplessly adjusted” to 10mm. A water jet and scraper keep the saw band clean during operation. The saw band can be quickly and simply replaced.
The conveyor has standard round straps with 4mm diameter, but conversion to other diameters is possible. The frame can be removed from the machine without any tools to replace the belt straps.
According to the manufacturer, the TFE 350 distinguishes itself through its compact construction, enabling it to be easily positioned in the production room. Four castors allow the simple transport of the machine in the plant, for example, when transporting to the cleaning area.
The large, smooth stainless steel surfaces are quick and easy o clean. A further advantage is the special operation mode for cleaning after production: only the cylinder and the conveyor belt are running, the freezing aggregate and the band saw are not in operation.
Nock’s TFE 350 is delivered standard with refrigeration aggregate. This operates with the environmental friendly refrigerating agent R404A.
Optionally, the machine can be delivered without a refrigeration aggregate, for connection to the company’s own refrigeration system.
