Life at sea revolves around the weather and how big the catch will be...
Needless to say, getting the best possible equipment onboard can mean the difference between making a profit or not. Integrating the latest leading technologies, JRC says it allows customers to explore new ways of working and enhance operational efficiency, and all in a highly cost-effective manner.
A few of the new products demonstrate JRC’s broad range of expertise in marine electronics.
The JFC-600 fish finder continues the tradition of high performance, operating in dual frequency as standard, resulting in a highly accurate and reliable read-out.
The fish finder incorporates a 6.5-inch high definition colour LCD display. The innovative display modes (11 available) allow the operator to select and view effortlessly the information required. The operating status indicates gain, noise suppression and interference. The numerical data, such as speed, position, depth and temperature are conveniently displayed and reappear in each display mode.
The JFC-600 includes a 'dual frequency mixed mode', enabling the operator to overlay two different frequencies, a unique feature normally only available on high-end fish finders. Generally the lower frequency is more suitable for the deep sea, while the high frequency is more useful for shallow water detection. The unique 'mix mode' of the JFC-600 means that the differences of the two frequencies can be seen more clearly, giving better potential for a more profitable catch.
If situations arise where automatic scaling is essential, the JFC-600 easily adapts to the mode selection, providing an optimised view. As the skipper navigates to his next catch and needs a certain waypoint (up to 400 possible), depth or area, the automatic mode selection will simply adapt to the mode and displays what is required at that point.
Another new fishing product JRC recently introduced is the JFP-180BB searchlight sonar. It is black box configured as standard, allowing the operator to select a preferred display size suiting the vessel. JRC’s displays uniformly incorporate a high brightness LCD display, available in 10.4- or 15-inch, ideal for installations on (relative) small commercial fishing vessels.
The newly developed JFP-180BB gives the user a feature not previously found on this class of sonar. The searchlight sonar will not stop searching when adjusting the tilt angle. This is a very useful tool for enhancing efficiency of fishing operations and safety of navigation.
The new searchlight sonar allows all operations to be carried out simply by using the keyboard. The layout has a full complement of keys, including direct tilting, hoist control, and special one-touch menu keys to access different scanning modes on screen. This makes it easy to navigate through all common used tasks. The logic of the controls and excellent on-screen menus will greatly shorten most users’ learning period.
