The new club lid will be presented at Seafood Processing Global in Brussels in May 2014.

Compared to the company’s former lid, the new one has been improved in three different ways.

The most important improvement is that it now has full periphery curling, including corners and short sides, meaning that the new lid needs no pre-curling prior to seaming. This secures better seaming of the lids, which leads to an easier and more reliable seaming process.

The type of compound and the method of applying it has also been improved. The compound will now be applied with greater precision in terms of quantity and placement, which, again, leads to a more reliable seaming process, and avoids the application of any excessive compound.

Finally, the opening tab has been improved and redesigned. It is now stronger and has an anti-rotation rivet for better attachment and a better end-user experience.

The company says that the new design is based on customer feedback and internal research. The lid has been thoroughly tested by several customers and the results show improved seaming quality.
