Marel from Iceland has developed a new grading system designed to meet the growing demand for highly accurate net-weight batching and packing equipment. The new Marel CheckBin Grader is a robust, sophisticated system that uses intelligent grading to produce accurate batches for packing.

The heart of the system lies in its intelligent batching software.

The Marel CheckBin Grader significantly reduces over pack, by using weighing platforms that constantly monitor batch weight and automatically send confirmation or corrections to the main M3000 computer.

Each platform includes a precision scale, which feeds back the actual weight on the platform to the main weight-grader computer. It then adjusts the accumulated piece weight accordingly, thereby eliminating the accumulation error and minimising the overweight in each grade. This ability to weigh the batch as it is being created eliminates accumulation errors and compensates for weight changes, such as drip loss.

The system intelligently minimises over pack, handles fresh and frozen fish, allows for the packing of different packs and can produce both premium and family packs, either separately or simultaneously.

The system is also ideal for fish processors who are processing large fillets like IQF frozen fillets and big batches like 10, 15 and 20 lbs boxes.
