The ST600 belt fed flatfish fillet skinner has been modified so that it is now suitable for skinning a variety of fish fillets.
The machine is capable of skinning and defrilling (if using the incorporated defrilling unit) 140 flatfish fillets per minute.
According to manufacturer STEEN, due to changing markets and new material resources there was a need for new adapted skinning equipment. Nowadays the ST600 is capable of skinning almost any type of fish fillet, such as perch, pike perch, tilapia, barramundi, walleye/pickerel, catfish, atlantic salmon, snapper, saithe, haddock etc.
STEEN skinners are also used for skinning squid and similar species.
STEEN also says that its machines answer the acute need of retaining as much of the value of the raw material as possible.
