McMurdo has appointed Garmin Iberia to handle distribution for the UK manufacturer throughout Spain.
Formerly Trepat, the distributor was taken over by Garmin in 2007, and so has streamlined its brands to the core Garmin product range plus the addition of a number of compatible brands including McMurdo.
The company supplies to the full spectrum of emergency distress beacon users, including leisure marine, fishing and commercial shipping, and is also making headway into the aviation market. Garmin Iberia will be supplying McMurdo's Smartfind EPIRBs, Fastfind PLBs, Rescue SARTs, VHF Radios and NAVTEX to one of McMurdo's most significant regions in terms of product awareness and usage. The company has its central office in Badalona just outside Barcelona and works with a large number of dealers and retailers around Spain.
McMurdo's sales and marketing manager Jeremy Harrison comments: “We have already worked with Trepat, now Garmin Iberia, over the years, and are now very pleased to confirm them as our sole distributor for all market sectors within Spain”.
