Koden launched its new 8.4-inch color LCD Marine Radar MDC-900 series this summer.

Users can select peak power output from 2kW or 4kW, and antenna length 1.2 feet (radome), 2 feet (radome), 3 feet (open) or 4 feet (open).

According to Koden, the MDC-900 series has many user-friendly features.

• High- performance, sophisticated signal processing, usually found only in larger professional grade radars

• The 'True Trail' feature clearly identifies moving targets from stationary targets such as land or buoys

• Exclusive dual range radar feature allows users to view split screen display of both long and short-range targets simultaneously

• Accepts CCD camera input, with which the user can watch above deck and below deck while steering

• ATA ( Automatic Tracking Aid) tracks up to 50 user designated targets (option). The latest movement of other vessels can be shown instantaneously in vector form and numeric form, ensuring safe navigation. When the automatic acquisition zone is set, up to 50 targets entering the zone will be locked automatically.

• Displays up to 100 AIS (Automatic Identification System) targets including the name, heading and speed of each vessel with AIS interface (option)

• Brilliant, sunlight viewable 8.4" color LCD display with anti-reflective glare coating

• Real time smooth Head-Up indication

• RGB outputs available for connecting two external monitors

• Easy operation with dedicated control knobs for Gain and STC

• Sleek, new compact case design can be mounted almost anywhere

• Built-in flush mounting system makes installation easy, the screws can be mounted from the front
