Milan-based Scotsman Europe – Frimont S.p.A has announced an updated and improved ice line in order to reduce installation time and service maintenance.
The machine, completely made of stainless steel AISI 304 inside and out, incorporates a new ice spout with a teflon profile. This improves the ice drop and allows the installation of a plastic (food approved) cover. This cover has an inspection window/opening to help maintenance and can be connected to modular ice chutes able to deliver ice directly into the bins/storage rooms. As an option, it is possible to fit a double ice chute in order to load two carts at the same time.
From the technical point of view the electrical control panel has been designed to comply with the current electrical regulations and to guarantee the best working performances.
The main controls are:
• An electrical supply check on the input phase sequence, immediately stops the machine in case of wrong drum rotation
• Compressor, drive motor and water pump delays, allowing the evaporator to be cleaned before stopping the machine
• An evaporator drum rotation control that stops the machine in case of lower speed, avoiding blocks of ice and mechanical overloads on the evaporator shaft.
All these protection systems help to reduce the maintenance requirement, avoid loss of ice production, and reduce the operating costs.
The machine is provided with a standard digital timer (which is easily placed remotely) while an infrared ice level sensor can be installed as required as accessory to control the storage bins.
