Heinen will be showing at Brussels its first compact and completely on a sub-frame mounted freezer from the new polaric series, following one and a half years of development.

After completing a study of the systems available on the market, Heinen's development engineers created the polaric, a technological hybrid between a spiral system with belt rails (where the belt slides on support rails) and a self-stacking spiral system (belt side plates are self-stacking). The polaric spiral system combines the best of both worlds. A central drum drives and at the same time solidly supports the belt system on the polaric. Belt destacking or tilting of the belt tower is thing of the post. The polaric's spiral system requires no belt support rails and as such can accommodate more levels at any given height. This gives a distinctly higher level of performance in the same amount of space when compared to conventional spiral systems with belt rails. These are only two of the advantages Heinen offers with the new polaric.

Key features of the system are described below:

* Approx 60% more production efficiency than systems with comparable exterior dimensions and belt widths. Capacities up to 1,200 kg/h (reference: raw hamburger)

* Product-orientated horizontal and vertical air flow for an optimal and most economical utilization of the system

* Internal direct driven drum, no lubrication of chains or bearings required

* Use of DIN and standardized industrial components, increased operating reliability, improves availability and reduces the cost of spare parts

* All major components are made of stainless steel including the interior of the insulated enclosure, the inner/outer doors and all bearings

* Stainless steel tray, completely welded with defined drains

* Belt cleaning system with pump unit for increased water pressure supply. Valve assembly for foaming and cleaning injectors are included in the basic design (upgradeable at any time to a full integrated cleaning system)

* Multilingual and symbol-based touchscreen display control

* Programs for freezing/cooling, defrosting, and cleaning with a user friendly recipe manager and quick selection using the customers' own product images

* Modem for remote monitoring is included in the basic design In addition, the polaric can be equipped with the options available as for all Heinen spiral systems, such as infeed and discharge conveyers, frequency-controlled fans and all variations of defrosting systems. Todays design is presented featuring the polaric with a net belt width of 400 mm, the next phases of development are underway for other belt widths and plant capacities.
