Some applications and regulations require the use of manual fire extinguishing systems.

FM-200 extinguishing agent

For these situations, Sea-Fire Marine offers pre-engineered, manual-only MD Series Fire Suppression Systems with the latest in high-temperature cable.

The company's innovative SMAC Discharge Cable Assembly is able to withstand temperatures up to 99°C. For potentially extreme heat conditions, Sea-Fire also now provides fire-resistant SMAC sleeving to protect cables from -54° to 260°C.

Designed for Sea-Fire's MD Series Fire Suppression Systems, the discharge cable with fire-resistant sleeving provides convenient single direction or bi-directional installation options for simplified mounting. Available in 0.3m increments from 1.8m to 22.9m, it includes a pull handle, escutcheon plate, safety pin, tie and easy-to-understand instructions. Also available separately, the sleeving comes in 0.3m increments.

Protecting spaces from 4.2 to 42.5m3, Sea-Fire's MD Series systems are ideal for enclosed areas onboard, such as electrical control rooms, machinery, engine and generator compartments, paint lockers and lazarettes. The proven fire suppression systems have numerous approvals and certifications, including Australia (National Marine Safety Committee), CE, FM, GL, IMCI, Maritime New Zealand and TC.

Upon discharge, the clean FM-200 extinguishing agent stops the combustion process through physical and chemical means by removing the heat energy from the fire. Nonconductive and non-corrosive, the EPA-approved alternative to Halon is safe for people, the environment and equipment.

All Sea-Fire MD Series extinguishers have a pressure switch for cylinder pressure supervision. It may also be employed to control other electrical functions from engine shutdown to air exchange equipment.
