Caley Fisheries announced that it has deployed Pegasus Software’s Opera 3.

The solution will be installed at the fishery’s North Shields and Oban operations to help capitalise on expansion, streamline processes and hope to boost its proposition to overseas customers.

“Through our deployment of Opera 3 we have transformed our operation which in turn, has allowed us to expand into new overseas markets,” said Andy Dixon, manager of Caley Fisheries’ North Shields division.

He added: “Previously, many of our processes relied on laborious manual paperwork with a large degree of duplication and scope for error, but with Opera 3, our operations are incredibly slick.”

Caley Fisheries decided to upgrade to Opera 3 based on a requirement for specific capabilities around its export sales processes. It needed to streamline all processes and enhance visibility of information pertaining to its European customer base.

Through the use of Opera 3 enabled electronic records of transactions to be sent directly to customers, suppliers and regulatory authorities with virtually no manual intervention, saving substantial amounts of time in manual re-keying of data.

This therefore allowed the company to expand its business, increasing its headcount by a third, and adding an additional £1m to its turnover.

Mr Dixon concluded: “As the project developed and we began to see the full potential of what the solution could offer, we worked to unlock more and more functionality in order that we can maximise our return investment in the solution, and propel our growth strategy going forward.”
