Plate freezer company Dybvad Stål Industri (DSI) has reported that the demand for plate freezers with automatic filling and/or unloading equipment has rocketed this year.

The company says that the automation saves manpower while securing a better working environment for the workers onshore or offshore. Capacity is also increased.
Among the freezers ordered from DSI is a brand new Continuous Horizontal Process system for the Espersen Group in Denmark. The group has ordered the very first horizontal HKS 38/20 with auto filling and unloading for onshore processing at its factory in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
This Continuous Horizontal Process system has been custom built and DSI says it is looking forward to seeing how the system works under production conditions. The freezer has 20 stations and is suitable for freezing fish in small packages. The system was presented for the first time at Seafood Processing Europe in Brussels in April.
So far this year 42 V16 units have been ordered by Norwegian and Russian vessels, and a customer in Belarus has ordered two standard horizontal HK 28/18 freezers with custom made automatic filling and unloading equipment.
Vriesoord in The Netherlands has ordered 12 V35s with an auto crane system, and Paula Trans in Poland has bought 16 V3 40/75 freezers with an overhead crane unloading system.
DSI has also launched its new plug and play freezer, which it says will benefit small scale food production in remote areas. The company also says that the PFP 2000 is perfect for onshore food processing.
The brand new PFP 2000 Plate Freezer Package is a horizontal freezer with its own refrigeration system assembled by the IM Group in Denmark. Four units have been ordered by a customer in Kenya and one unit is going to a customer in The Solomon Islands.
