A new one-day conference will take place in Grimsby, UK, this week which will explore the challenges faced by the fishing and seafood industry in managing a long-term sustainable future.
The Humber Seafood Summit, being held on Thursday 15 July, will bring together a panel of respected industry speakers, NGOs and delegates from across Europe to debate topics on the theme: ‘Sustaining our Future from Sea to Plate.’
The event is hosted by the Humber Seafood Institute with the support of Young’s Seafood/Findus Group and Yorkshire Forward.
It will discuss the responsible management and certification of wild fisheries and then consider the issues around building a sustainable fish farming industry.
The afternoon session will focus on the market opportunities and challenges faced by fish producers and retailers in encouraging consumers to eat more seafood.
