The Young Seafood Leaders’ Network has announced the names of the young UK talent that will play a key role in delivering the network’s objectives.

The network aims to nurture and develop young talent and was set up in 2018 by Seafish, the public body that supports the £10bn UK seafood industry.
The steering group members are Femke de Boer of SWFPA, William Davies of Seachill, Michael Dick of Seafish, Megan Doxford of Marine Harvest Scotland, John Heste of Young’s Seafood Ltd, Sarah Hussey of Sea Farms Ltd, Emma McKeating of Independent Fishmonger and James Wood of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust/Consultant/Fisherman.
Marcus Coleman, chief executive of Seafish, said that the group represents the diversity of the network and the seafood industry. “Their part is to shape the annual programme of events and activities for those engaged in this group,” he said.
The Young Seafood Leaders’ Network is a platform for knowledge sharing and identification and appreciation of best practice. The goals are to provide opportunities for the exploration of business ideas, provide networking opportunities, facilitate partnerships and mentoring, develop leadership skills and identify professional development opportunities.
The network is open to seafood leaders between the ages of 25 and 40 years of age who are passionate about their own development and that of the UK seafood industry in general.
The steering group will meet on 2 May for the first time to look at a programme of events and opportunities for the network.
