With in-house expertise on fishing and the use of equipment in the Arctic, the company is well positioned to deliver complete solutions for trawlers, oceanography and research vessels.

The company has a wide product range in offshore handling equipment and systems, including winches, handling frames and cranes. More than 95% of SEAONICS’ winches have electric drive train.

SEAONICS’ latest contract is for the new Havfisk trawler that will be built at VARD Søviknes.

“Actually the first contract made in SEAONICS was within fisheries and was to Havfisk on their Gadus series, also built at VARD”, says sales manager, Jan Kjarstad. “We were very pleased and humbled when Havfisk selected SEAONICS equipment once again.”

The company’s largest contract so far is the delivery of all handling equipment onboard the new Norwegian Polar Research Vessel, Kronprins Haakon to Fincantieri. Together with the owner, designer and yard, the experienced engineers at SEAONICS have designed state-of-the-art handling equipment for extreme conditions:

  • Fishing winches
  • Oceanographic winches
  • Handling frames
  • Cranes

The cooperation with Fincantieri has been very good and this year SEAONICS has produced, tested and delivered major parts of the project.
