O.W. Icebunker Ltd. A/S (OWI), part of the O.W. Bunker Group has announced the establishment of a new tank storage facility in the North Atlantic.
Located in Fuglefjord, Faroe Islands, it is strategically positioned at the crossroads of the North Atlantic. It is the only point north of 60 deg N, where low sulphur heavy fuel oil is available and is the last stop before entering the North Sea Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA). It is especially convenient for the North Atlantic fishing fleet.
New tanks provide storage for products ranging from LS IFO 380 cst to marine gas oil. And with state-of-the-art blending equipment OWI can deliver products precisely to the customer's specification.
Fuglefjord's natural harbour also makes it an ideal bunkering port within the Faroe Islands. Sheltered from the open sea, the port is easily entered from the north or south. Free from rocks and with just a short distance to the berth, it makes for safe bunkering 24/7 all year round. OWI offers service ex-pipe but can also deliver physical supplies offshore by barge.
The new terminal can currently accept vessels of up to 200 metres length and with a draft of up to 12 metres.
