In common with many Scottish fishing boat owners, Jonathan Dawson of the Standsure, UL 552, was experiencing increasingly high fuel costs which meant fishing was becoming less profitable.
A 5% addition of Belesta LC2 (Lubricant Concentrate) was added to the engine lubricant in the twin Ford engines of 180 hp. Further to the application, Mr Dawson commented, "Since using Belesta LC2, it has been saving me around 10-15% on fuel. I have also noticed that there has been a significant noise reduction in the engine. I also use Belesta LC2 in the hydraulics and gearboxes; I would definitely recommend it to other fishermen as it has some very clear benefits to its use."
In addition to this, Mr Dawson also uses other products from the Belesta product range such as Belesta XPG (Extreme Pressure Grease), to apply to all the bearings and winch onboard the boat. In addition, Belesta PL (Penetrant Lubricant) to prevent seizure of seacock’s, door hinges and locks, wire ropes and as a general purpose freeing agent and lubricant.
