WESMAR is introducing the new HD825 Series Searchlight Sonar this month.

This all-digital system is specially designed for purse seining, but highly effective for all sonar applications. WESMAR says that it updates the company’s popular HD800 and SS395 sonars, with amazing speed and the most advanced operating console available.
The speed comes from its Blackfin internal computer, and combined with the new-generation console, it is claimed that fishermen will immediately recognise its ability to improve fishing and increase profits.
“Whether you purse seine, longline, or troll, this sonar will increase your ability to locate and stay on the fish. Sport fishers, charter boats and yachts will want this as well,” says WESMAR President Bruce Blakey.
“The new control panel is designed for quick and easy operation to find fish, fast. Following a school of fish and navigating the boat have become much easier. There are no menus to scroll when tracking the fish so your eyes stay on the fish. Changes to range, sector, bearing and tilt are immediate because each has its own separate control. The quick reverse feature is perfect. Once fish are detected you can hit quick review and waste no time returning to the fish,” says Mr Blakey.
The HD825 uses the same powerful Black Fin processor as the high-end HD850 sonar, giving powerful digital detection capability and digital communications without cable loss or electrical interference, which enhances performance. Bright, sharp target colours help detect dispersed fish.
The fast new HD825 has four screens of operation: full screen sonar; split screen sonar/profile; split screen linear scan/profile; and full screen sounder. The system is available in three models (160kHz, 110kHz, and 60kHz) with the option of either a Lead Screw or Hydraulic hoist.
