UK fishing company Waterdance Ltd has added a former trawler converted to operate as a workboat to its expanding fleet.

The former George Johannes, now Jo of Ladram, is a UK workboat and will be deployed on guardship duties from this month. It is also available for charter as a survey vessel.
The 26 metre Jo of Ladram has an Industrie 8-cylinder main engine, giving a top speed of up to 12 knots and a 10 knots cruising speed. It has accommodation for 3-5 crew, 8-10 passengers, a heated survey room with work stations and a saloon with seating for 10. Jo of Ladram’s aft deck also has the capacity to take a 20ft container.
Jo of Ladram will initially be deployed to the IFA2 project in the English Channel, guarding the laying of an electricity inter-connector cable between the UK and France.
Waterdance is a family-owned fishing company and is part of the Greendale Group. Waterdance has a fleet of more than twenty fishing vessels based in Devon and Cornwall, including beam trawlers, netters, potters and scallopers, and has a new 35 metre beam trawler currently under construction. All Waterdance boats use the company’s own quota as much as possible, but it does also trade quota domestically and internationally.
The company also has significant experience of providing well-equipped fishing vessel guardships for a range of marine engineering projects. This service enables effective communications between marine engineering companies and fishing vessels during active phases of marine projects, ensuring the safety of nearby shipping and protecting the construction area.
