The Vyborg Shipyard has moved the first in the pair of new trawlers for Atlantrybflot, part of the FOR Group, out of the construction hall to the yard’s slipway, while work has begun on a second trawler for the same customer.

The keel of the first newbuild, Yuri Matochkin, was laid in November 2018. The yard has begun cutting steel for the second Atlantrybflot trawler, and the series of four trawlers being built to the same design also includes a pair of new factory vessels for Nord Pilgrim.
The trawlers being built at the Vyborg shipyard, a part of the United shipbuilding Corporation, for Atlantrybflot and Nord Pilgrim are an 80.40 metre design with a 15.40 metre breadth and a draft of 6.10 metres, and with a 4640kW main engine.
Designed to concentrate on demersal species, the KMT02 project trawlers will be fitted with processing decks capable of freezing 100 tonnes per day, as well as having fishmeal and fish oil production, plus canning capacity on board.
