Dutch vessel yard Visser Den Helder has just launched its latest vessel for Russian client Rybpros Shipping Company.

The vessel is the first of two for Russia, with the second vessel scheduled for delivery in August. The vessel, an arctic trawler is one of the Visser Trawler 5011 purpose built types.

It will fish for mainly cod and haddock as well as shrimps in the Barents Sea and has been specially equipped to operate under arctic conditions. The catch will be processed on board and frozen in plate freezers.

Visser says its range of trawlers are available in different types of execution. As well as specially equipping vessels for arctic conditions, Visser can also equip vessels to operate under moderate or tropical conditions.

Execution of the fishhold can be full size for freezing, full size for fresh fish or split for combined freezing/fresh. The winch package is now based on triple trawl winches for twin rigging with sweep line winches for net handling and auxiliary winches.

In addition, the vessel can be fitted with net drums. As an alternative a double shaft multi drum winch can also be installed.
