A new fish wholesaler based in Fleetwood, England has secured a deal to supply a supermarket chain and also has plans to train up the next generation of the seaside town’s fish industry.

My Fish Company was launched in September this year by co-founders Gary Apps and Kim Ashton, with support from Lloyds Bank.
The company has secured a deal to supply Preston-headquartered supermarket chain Booths, which has 32 stores throughout the North West, with all of the fresh fish sold on its fish counters, as well as own label products.
Gary said, “This has been a massive achievement for us, we want to build a business that is known for supplying the highest quality fish and seafood available to hotels and restaurants across the North West and there’s no better quality mark than being a Booths supplier.”
Gary and Kim secured a substantial six figure investment to found My Fish Company, which has seen them take two units at the Harbour Trading Estate in Fleetwood, totalling 7,500 sq ft, which required a substantial fit out.
The company employs 25 staff and plans to start offering apprenticeships early next year, to invest in the next generations of seafood specialists.
