Stavis Seafoods has announced that it will take possession of facility space located in Boston, USA, from December this year.

The additional space includes 22,000 square feet of a HACCP-certified, refrigerated warehouse that will allow the company - an international importer, exporter and distributor of fresh and frozen seafood - to expand its fresh processing and storage capabilities to better meet the needs of its growing customer base. This facilities addition is part of a larger expansion plan that will include new facilities in 2016.

“Stavis Seafoods continues to expand. In the New Year, this additional space will help us better serve our customers and allow us to say ‘yes’ to more of their requests,” said Richard Stavis, CEO of Stavis Seafoods. “Over the past year we have expanded our global sourcing reach, added new fresh and frozen seafood items, and added to our facilities and plant capabilities. We are actively building the company to meet the future demands of our customers, as well as the industry as a whole. It is an important step in the overall growth plan of the company.”

Stavis Seafoods serves a wide range of seafood customers, including wholesale and distribution, foodservice and restaurant, chefs and retail, and trading and national chain accounts. The additional facility will be up-and-running by January and provide the necessary space to enable growth in Stavis Seafoods’ quality assurance and fresh fish processing, which includes the addition of on-site processing of Faroe Islands Salmon. Stavis Seafoods’ current facilities in Boston and Miami will continue to handle customer orders and processing during and after this transition.
