The UK Seafood Federation (UKSF) has welcomed two organisations to its membership: Processor Thistle Seafoods, with two sites in Scotland, and importer Unibond Seafood International Limited join as a Tier 2 members, allowing them access to join nominated UKSF working groups that strategically feed-in to the main UKSF Board.

The new UK Seafood Federation was launched to unite the United Kingdom’s seafood processors and traders

“Having attended the UKSF launch workshop and dinner in January, we’re pleased to be joining UKSF main board alongside other leading UK seafood processors and traders. We look forward to [having] an active role in contributing to the UKSF mission and strategic objectives,” Thistle Seafoods CEO Ryan Scatterty said.

Unibond Seafood International’s Jason Parsons said: “For our business, being able to have a voice and input into the Policy & Trade sub-group is important and we welcome this initiative to be part of the Federation and supporting their mission and goals.”

UKSF Chair Simon Smith added: “We are delighted to have Thistle Seafoods join our main board and following the launch our Tier 2 level membership, welcoming Unibond. We look forward to their participation in our sub-groups and representing their wider seafood processing and trade interests.”

Launched in January this year, UK Seafood Federation has a membership comprising many UK seafood processing and trading businesses, focused on pre-competitive issues related to Skills and Research, Industry Integrity and Reputation, Ethics and Sustainability, Smooth Trade Flows and Communication and Engagement.
