After around two and a half years in the role, Andreas Thorud has resigned from his position as the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) representative to China and has announced a move to Nordic Aqua Partners.

NSC said it will soon begin recruiting a new representative for its office in Shanghai and that its aim is to carry out a “thorough and efficient” recruitment process to ensure a smooth transition between the incoming seafood representative and Thorud during his notice period.
With Thorud joining a competing business, the Council has implemented some necessary measures to protect its operations and the interests of the seafood industry in China. Among other things, Thorud’s collaboration and communication with the local Chinese value chain and Norwegian exporters during the notice period will be limited to a degree that both preserves NSC’s interests and network and simultaneously ensures the majority of planned activities moving forward are conducted.
During the notice period, communication with the local value chain will be managed by the rest of the team in China with support from the main office in Tromsø. Furthermore, communication and collaboration with the Norwegian exporters will be handled by the main office in consultation with Thorud.
