Icelandic software provider Wisefish has announced a new partnership with Canadian seafood processor Quinlan Brothers, marking a further expansion of its presence in Canada and the wider North American market.
The agreement reflects growing demand across Canada’s seafood sector for specialised digital tools to modernise operations, improve traceability, and manage increasingly complex global supply chains.

“We’re seeing increasing regulatory and consumer expectations drive seafood companies in Canada toward more integrated, industry-specific technology,” Siggeir Örn Steinþórsson, Wisefish’s chief commercial officer told World Fishing & Aquaculture.
“As supply chains become more complex and traceability requirements grow, businesses are prioritising solutions that provide real-time visibility and reliable data across operations.
“This is accelerating a shift away from manual processes toward systems that can support compliance, improve transparency and enable better decision-making.
Wisefish’s platform provides a unified system that connects key parts of the seafood value chain, including catch data, production processes, logistics and sales. By reducing fragmentation and creating a single source of data, the software enables companies to better understand costs, monitor margins and maintain traceability in line with international standards.
The company says it expects the tool to bring cost savings and improvements in efficiency and traceability from day one. “Implementing Wisefish will give Quinlan Brothers greater visibility across its operations, helping streamline processes, reduce manual work and improve insight into costs, margins and yield,” continued Steinþórsson.
“It will also strengthen traceability in line with Canadian and European standards. These benefits begin as the system is rolled out, with further improvements over time as it becomes fully integrated into day-to-day operations.”
The partnership highlights a broader industry shift toward integrated software solutions that can handle both operational complexity and compliance requirements. With more than three decades of experience in the seafood sector, Wisefish has been expanding steadily in North America as companies face mounting pressure to improve margins, address labour constraints and meet evolving sustainability and traceability expectations.
