Ecuador’s shrimp exports soared by 35% in October with shipments reaching 116,109 tonnes, lifting the total January-October 2025 export tally 16% to 1,154,317 tonnes, finds new industry analysis from Shrimp Insights.

Netherlands-based Shrimp Insights also advised the export value followed a similar trajectory – reaching US$ 650 million in October (up 48% year-on-year), while the year-to-date total climbed 25% on last year to $6.16 billion.
China remained Ecuador’s main shrimp export market, buying in 556,190 tonnes of product in the 10-month period (+4%). It was followed by the EU with 227,377 tonnes (34% higher than last year), the United States with 224,217 tonnes (+26%), Russia’s 20,844 tonnes (-14%) and Japan’s 16,236 tonnes (+43%).
In 2024, Ecuador’s exported 1,214,105 tonnes of shrimp.
