Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, the world’s largest seafood trade event, saw its 31st edition (6-8 May 2025) attended by more than 35,000 seafood industry professionals, according to its organiser Diversified.

The next Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global will take place in Barcelona, 21-23 April 2026

This year, the expo brought together 2,187 exhibiting companies from 87 countries and 68 national and regional pavilions in more than 51,217 square metres of exhibition space. The economic impact for the city is estimated to be more than €156 million.

The event received new participation from countries and regions including Albania, Egypt, Georgia, Greenland, Malta, Nigeria and Réunion with new national and regional pavilions from Agencia de Gestion Agraria y Pesquera de Andalucia, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), Japan Federation of Soy Sauce Manufacturers Cooperatives, ProEcuador, Sri Lanka Export Development Board and Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial, IVACE (Spain) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

“The exhibit floor was full of energy over the past three days as a truly international meeting place for the global seafood industry to achieve their annual business objectives,” said Wynter Courmont, Vice President, Seafood at Diversified. “Exhibitors and visitors alike use this global platform to strengthen relationships with existing clients, connect with new prospects, build strategic partnerships and stay informed about the latest industry developments.”

Seafood Expo Global exhibitors showcased the most recent innovations in seafood spanning from fresh, frozen, canned, value-added, processed and packaged products.

“We are getting very good exposure at this show and at the same time, we are also able to meet a lot of new clients and existing clients. We also see the product development from all over the world, and this is a showcase for us to understand what happens in the fisheries,” said Mohamed Ameen Sait, Managing Director, Sea Pride LLC of Oman. “We are getting a lot of inquiries and new clients, and at the same time, we also have access to a lot of different countries’ information and products. We are now bringing our product to other parts of the world, and we can’t wait to maintain and upgrade our processing lines.”

Exhibiting companies on the Seafood Processing Global side of the event featured companies representing every aspect of seafood processing, including packaging material and machinery, equipment and supplies for refrigeration and freezing, primary and secondary processing equipment, hygiene control and sanitation and quality assurance services.

“There’s no other way to access global seafood suppliers all in one place…everybody we want to talk to is here at Seafood Expo Global,” said Andrew Lively, CEO of Ocean Perfect, a live seafood logistics company. “I have been coming to Seafood Expo Global for over 14 years and there’s no question that every year, there are new things to see, new people to meet and new things to learn. The people we are most interested in showing our system to are here.”

High-volume buyers from retail, foodservice and distribution took part in this year’s Key Buyer programme. The Seafood Excellence Global Awards recognised the best products represented at the expo with Vičiūnai Group of Lithuania and Kalaneuvos Oy of Finland, winning the top prizes. The winners were selected from a list of 40 finalists. The top award for Best Retail Product was presented to Vičiūnai Group for its entry, Cold-smoked Atlantic Salmon with Truffles. Kalaneuvos Oy of Finland won the grand prize for Best HORECA (hotel/restaurant/catering) Product for its Trout Bacon.
