With changes to the Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) regulations being made recently with the enforcement of regulations that state a minimum number of Emergency Escape Breathing Devices (EEBD) that have to be avaliable on marine vessels, UK company Sabre has highlighted the importance of its range including the ELAS emergency escape breathing device and Sigma self contained breathing apparatus.

The company says ELSA is CE marked to the latest European standard EN1146, and is supplied in a compact high visibility bag. Minimising training and maintenance costs, the ELSA is simple and reliable compressed air reducer is based on Sabre technology. It features a DIN connector for cylinder recharging and a whistle that activates as the compresses air supply runs out and warns the wearer that CO2 levels will build up.

Sabre's Sigma II, a positive pressure self-contanied breathing apparatus. It features an ergonomically shaped backplate for optimised load distribution to maximise wearer comfort and an instant postive pressure demand valve which provides maximum protection and is simply operated.
