Nor-Fishing Foundation is calling for submissions which will be considered for its Innovation Prize which will be presented at the Nor-Fishing 2004 trade show in Trondheim in August. The winner will receive a print by the renowned Norwegian artist Ørnulf Dahl, a diploma and NOK 100,000 (around EUR9,000)

The winner will be selected for encouraging " increased focus on innovation, rationalisation, quality assurance/improvement, enhanced profitability and protection of environment and resources in the fishery and aquaculture industries".

Eligible categories are foreign and Norwegian businesses, organisations, research institutions and individuals connected to the fish sector on land and sea. Applications should describe and document a project, a product, a process or any other relevant measures launched in the course of the last two years. You do not have to attend trade show to compete, Nor-Fishing said. The jury, from Innovation Norway, the Federation of Norwegian Fishing and Aquaculture Industries and the Norwegian Fishermen's Association, will attach particular importance to the aspects of innovation, impact, economic gain and market potential. Three entries will be selected and their names and projects released to the press to help get their products known. The winner from those three finalists will be awarded the prize at the opening day reception on 10 August.

Last years Innovation Prize was won by Norwegian company OxSea Vision AS for its technology to regulate oxygen added to cages used for cultivating marine organisms.
