Refrigeration contract for new pelagic plant
Frost and Skaginn have signed a contract for a new pelagic plant in Fuglafjordur, Faroe Islands.
The contract is with a newly established company P/F Pelagos,
The plant is similar to the plant delivered to Vardin Pelagic in 2012 - the initial capacity will be 600 tons per day, with the possibility to increase the capacity to 1,000 tons per day.
The plant design is Skaginn’s automatic solution with an automatic grading, packing, freezing and palletising system. The refrigeration system delivered by Frost is specially designed for the Skaginn automatic plate freezers and to ensure lowest energy consumption possible.
Species to be processed at the new plant are blue whiting, mackerel, herring and capelin.
The new plant will be operational in August this year.
Frost has also recently become the distributor and service representative for FrioNordica products in Iceland. Among the FrioNordica products represented are: Finsam IceMachines; RSW coolers; heat pumps; slurry ice systems; and flow ice systems.
