ACE lands factory upgrade contract
ACE Refrigeration has landed a six-figure refrigeration contract with Associated Seafoods, one of Scotland’s best known seafood companies.
Associated Seafoods sells salmon and shellfish to customers around the globe. The company plans to refurbish and upgrade its existing fish processing factory in Buckie and ACE Refrigeration will help create a new BRC (British Retail Consortium) compliant processing plant.
The refrigeration and cold room specialists will design and install a number of chill areas including pre-smoke and post-smoke chills, a curing chill, a crab chill and a blast chill as well as a goods in chill, despatch chill and refrigerated goods out holding area.
ACE’s design also incorporates its RACE Energy Saving System, allowing for the effective energy management of the entire system, whilst helping to increase the control and reporting capabilities for the end user in an easy to use way – giving staff increased control.
In addition to the refrigeration element of the project, ACE will also install a brazed plate heat exchanger which takes the heat that the refrigeration system extracts out of the air and reuses it to heat water, which will give Associated Seafoods free hot water to wash down the production areas, crucial in a fish processing plant.
Shane McKenzie, sales director of ACE Refrigeration, said: “The fishing and seafood market is a crucial industry in Scotland and we are pleased to be supporting Associated Seafoods.
“This project reinforces our experience and expertise in this sector and we look forward to working with Associated Seafoods in the coming months.”
