Janneke has now officially entered service, with excellent results, reports Werft

Following a waiting period for official documentation from the Belgian authorities, Janneke has now officially entered service, with excellent results.

This delivery not only concludes an administrative delay, but more importantly marks the beginning of a promising new chapter for the owner and crew, Werft said, adding that it was built to excel in multiple areas: reliability, sustainability and multifunctionality.

Janneke was developed with the specific needs of today’s fisherman in mind. The vessel is designed for maximum flexibility in fishing techniques and seasonal catch requirements.

Thanks to its smart layout, spacious working deck, and tailored technical features, Janneke can be easily adapted to various fishing methods without compromising on safety or efficiency. This, Werft said, gives fishermen a practical advantage in responding to changing catch opportunities and regulations.

“As such, the vessel distinguishes itself not only in sustainability and efficiency but also in its multifunctional deployment.”

From its first sea trials to its current deployment, Janneke has proven to operate reliably and efficiently, without any significant technical issues.

Due to the vessel’s relatively compact length in combination with its installed power, the stability requirements were particularly demanding. The result is excellent stability and a highly comfortable motion at sea, confirmed by the crew.

One of the most outstanding features of Janneke is its exceptionally low fuel consumption. In an era where fuel expenses heavily impact the operational costs of fishing vessels, this ship offers a clear economic advantage. The combination of an optimised hull design, modern propulsion technology, and innovative electrical systems makes this possible.

“The Z-575 is performing beyond expectations. We immediately found our rhythm! Fuel consumption is exceptionally low, especially compared to similar trawlers,” said owner Jelle Hakvoort. “It’s a clear step forward, both in terms of cost savings and environmental impact.”

According to Werft, Janneke demonstrates how modern shipbuilding can actively contribute to a future-proof fishing industry, with the company highlighting that It combines operational reliability with sustainable technology and versatile usability.
